Dr Sara Afshari

Originally from Iran, Sara Afshari is a Research Tutor at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, where she oversees the MPhil stage and supports postgraduate research. She holds a PhD in Media, Religion and Culture from the University of Edinburgh, an MTh in World Christianity from Edinburgh, and an MA in Media Communication from the University of Wales. Sara has sustained a strong track record in directing a wide range of organisational, research, and education-related operations—founding a media trust company in London, co-founding and serving as Executive Director of SAT-7 PARS, and building and managing Christian satellite television. Her experience also includes supervising PhD and MPhil students, strategic consultancy for the Danish Lutheran Church, and cultivating long-term partnerships with organisations across the world.
