Terry Garde, a recent PhD graduate within OCMS, is a mining engineer with a heart for serving the poor in mining. He researched this sector, known internationally as artisanal mining, and is now committed to establishing holistic mission work in collaboration with Christian miners in Africa. Terry has spent his life in this industry, ranging from mine management to tertiary education to international consultancy in mining law and governance. He married his first love, Barbara, and their four wonderful children have gifted them with five grandchildren, so far!
