Dr. Vilma “Nina” Balmaceda is the associate director of Duke Divinity´s Center for Reconciliation. She leads Peace and Hope International (PHI), a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to building peace and confronting violence and other forms of injustice among marginalized communities through its sister Paz y Esperanza organizations in Latin America.
