Steve Nicolle and his wife Ali (both originally from the UK) have been members of Wycliffe Bible Translators for over 20 years, serving first in Kenya (1999-2013) and now in Canada. After working with the Digo language project on the Kenyan coast for 8 years, the Nicolles moved to Nairobi where Steve served as a lecturer and eventually head of the translation department at Africa International University. During this time he also worked as a translation and linguistics consultant with SIL in various countries in east and central Africa. Steve is currently director of the MA in Linguistics and Translation at the Canada Institute of Linguistics in British Columbia. He is interested in using linguistic analysis to help produce more accurate and natural translations of the Bible. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling and brewing beer.
