F. Lionel Young III is a Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide in Cambridge, England. He holds a PhD from the University of Stirling (Scotland) where he was mentored by the British intellectual David W. Bebbington. Lionel also holds graduate degrees in theology and church history from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Grace Theological Seminary. He credits another British thinker, C. S. Lewis, for his love of good books and his fondness for British ale. His life has been transformed by his academic research on the history of non-Western Christianity and his many friendships with followers of Christ in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Lionel and his wife Stacy live in Austin, Texas.
