As an interdenominational Christian education institution we are committed to hearing diverse voices within the global Christian community,
OCMS is deeply committed to amplifying voices that are often unheard, especially in times of conflict and injustice. The birthplace of Christianity, a region rich in spiritual history, is facing immense challenges as the Christian population continues to dwindle under the pressures of ongoing conflict and occupation.
The recent proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to assume control over Gaza and resettle Palestinians in neighboring countries has sparked widespread concern and condemnation across the international community. While this plan has found support among some in the U.S. church, it is essential to listen to those most directly affected by these policies—Palestinian theologians and Christian leaders who speak from within the heart of the conflict.
We invite you to read the recent statement from Kairos Palestine, a movement of Palestinian Christians advocating for justice and peace. Their press release, A Betrayal of Justice: Kairos Palestine Rejects Trump’s Ethnic Cleansing Proposal and Calls for Global Action, highlights the urgent need for the global church to stand in solidarity with all who suffer, regardless of their background, and to uphold the principles of justice, dignity, and human rights for all people in the Holy Land.
You can read the full statement here.
As we struggle to make sense of rapidly unfolding events, we pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation in the region, and for the resilience of the Christian community in its sacred homeland.
