Advancing Holistic Mission through Scholarly Engagement

1. Accommodation costs

Residential costs are based on single study bedrooms with students sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities and doing their own catering. Room costs are about £350 a month for single rooms and £415-450 per month for double rooms.

Short stays usually cost more. Booking can be done through OCMS or directly by the student, well in advance of coming for residence. Students who bring their families prefer, and are advised, to arrange their own accommodation. OCMS can offer points of contact.

Living costs will vary from student to student but an average is £220 per month.

Additional costs include travel, freight, computer, stationery, books, photocopying, fax, and telephone, the extent of which can be privately controlled.

Contact us if you need more information on your expenses, as we can help you draft a budget from your circumstances. You will need to produce evidence of funding for the first year at least, which will not include Registration Fees, but will include the first residence of three months. Without this an otherwise successful applicant will be formally offered enrolment conditional on funding. This letter may then be used in fund-raising.

2. Visas

Depending on your nationality and country of residence, you may require a UK Visa to study at OCMS. You are advised to download a visa application form (from www.ukvisas.gov.uk) and to submit your application to your nearest British High Commission or Embassy, once you have accepted a place to study at OCMS.

Please apply well before you travel to the UK. OCMS can assist you with your visa application by preparing a letter of introduction to the relevant visa section for submission with your application. Please ask us for a letter, give us the address (town) where you intend submitting your application and let us know your full name (as it appears on your passport) your passport number, expiry date, your date of birth and your intended travel dates.

The Oxford Centre for Mission Studies is scheduled as a 'Provider of Courses leading to a Degree' in the Education (Listed Bodies) Order 1999. This means that the Secretary of State for Education recognizes OCMS as a body which falls within section 216(3) of the Education Reform Act 1988. OCMS is also registered with the Department for Education and Skills as an Education and Training Provider, reference no. 21721.
