ENABLES YOU TO REMAIN ROOTED IN YOUR CONTEXT WHILE DISCOVERING MORE ABOUT IT
The OCMS research programme is specifically designed to enable researchers to remain in their context of mission and service, as 85 per cent of research students study part-time with short residences in Oxford. Full-time study is also available. As a result 100 per cent of OCMS graduates have returned to their contexts of mission and service on graduation, while 33 per cent of our doctoral graduates have published their research in their own contexts which is thus available to their own churches and institutions. This represents important returns on the investment in church personnel. The aims of scholarship providers to support the leadership of churches in the Two-Thirds World is being fulfilled through the OCMS process.
INCREASES YOUR CAPACITY TO SERVE THE TWO-THIRDS WORLD CHURCH
All our 39 higher degree graduates are currently working in areas of employment directly related to their research. All, but one who has lost contact, are working for organizations directly related to the purpose of their research. Such an employment record is exemplary for any educational programme. The aims of the programme are being achieved in that the occupations of graduates may be analyzed thus:
66%
in education and research for the church or parachurch organizations
13%
in evangelism
11%
in Christian relief and development work
8%
in senior church leadership.
Our awarding institutions are highly appreciative of this result, for applicability is not at the expense of academic standards when they find these to be the same in OCMS as for British universities in general.
