Giving to OCMS

Why donate to OCMS?

OCMS is the only centre for Christian research with a focus on the Global South in the UK, and what makes us even more unique is that the majority of our students either originate or live in the Global South. Many of our students are deeply entrenched within the societies they live in, either as development professionals with NGOs, or as ministers with local churches or organisations.

How to contribute

There are a variety of ways in which you can get involved with OCMS:

  • Scholarships - The majority of our students come from the global south, and as a result they often rely on outside funding in order to come to Oxford to attend OCMS. We have several scholarship programmes that allow donors to fund research areas of their choice, or fund the studies of a single student. These research areas fall into six distinct categories: Education, Biblical and Mission Studies, Humanitarianism, Anthropological Studies, Reconciliation and Justice, and Sustainability and Wellbeing.
  • Restoration works – Our church is over 150 years old and is frequently included in lists of the most beautiful churches in Oxford. However, as a result of age and listed building status it is often costly to make necessary repairs and restoration works to keep it looking its best. This year OCMS is hoping to raise £40,000 in order to restore our beautiful stained glass windows.
  • Faculty posts – As a world leader in mission studies, OCMS aims to attract the very best faculty from across the globe. In order to do this we have a fund which allows donors to sponsor faculty chairs in particular research areas. This ensures our students have access to leading scholars and allows us to raise the profile of OCMS internationally.
  • Building extension – we have recently begun the initial stages of adding to the interior of our church and building an extension in order to provide more space for research and faculty offices. This is a vital project for OCMS as it will allow us expand our current programmes as we attract more students and faculty.

If you would like to make a donation to OCMS please contact our Development Officer, Nadine Woods, by email at nwoods@ocms.ac.uk, or by phone on 01865 517727. Alternatively, you can make a donation online here.
