In combining academic excellence with engaged research, OCMS is committed to raising scholars, professionals and church leaders whose research will make a real difference in the world. We work to ensure that insight and wisdom gained in critical reflection is moving beyond the walls of the academy for a more just and compassionate world.

With this in mind OCMS carves spaces for  leaders in the field to exchange knowledge, experience and understanding from different cultural and denominational perspectives through timely and relevant conferences, drawing together people from across the globe, from a broad spectrum of denominations and cultural contexts. 

Examples of recent conferences include the Edinburgh 2010 conference on Holistic Mission and a conference preparing thinking for the Lausanne Cape Town meeting on wold evangelism relating to Reaching the Diaspora.  Sub groups or workshops within the conferences ensure a broad spectrum of input and an exciting range of perspectives to stimulate thinking and responses.
