Facts and Figures
The purpose of this page is to provide answers to questions people have made regarding the nature of OCMS and its community. If you have a question, please write to ocms@ocms.ac.uk making the subject line of your email as 'Website facts and Figures'. We will then endeavour to provide the answers to your questions here. If you are wondering, the probability is that others would like to know, too!
1. At what age do people come to study for for their PhD?
Thank you, Philippe, from Cameroon for your question. Here is the current profile of our student body:

2. What proportion of the people studying at OCMS are women?
Michelle from Pakistan has asked this question, and although the box below shows our current situation, as it is a snapshot in time it doesn't show what is, in fact, a worrying trend. Over the last few years we have noticed a decrease in the number of women who are being released for study by their employers, or who are feeling able to apply to study. For this reason OCMS has been developing a special scholarship fund to help provide extra support for women scholars. We hope therefore that in coming years, this percentage will improve. If you are a woman, thinking of undertaking research with us, please contact ppound@ocms.ac.uk to find out more about applying for scholarships for study with OCMS.
