Following the 150th Anniversary celebrations OCMS played host to the inaugural Stott-Bediako Forum from 15th – 16th June, 2012. The theme for 2012 was ‘A Potrait of Catalysts’. There were about 45 people who attended over the two days and included the Members of the OCMS community, INFEMIT and World Vision.
The Forum was a good way to learn about seven different Christians who served as catalysts in bringing the transforming power of the gospel to people in their specific social context. A presenter was chosen to speak about each of the Christian Leaders. There were a variety of Leaders that were spoken about and they included:-
- On J Stott (Monty Barker)
- On Catharine Ruth Feser de Padilla (Ruth Padilla DeBorst)
- On P Kuzmic (Corneliu Constanineau)
- On Juan José Barreda (Marcelo Vargas)
- On K Bediako (Kwabena Gyadu)
- On D Githari (Reginald Nalugala)
- On D Bussau (Makonen Getu)
After each presentation members of the Forum could ask questions and at the end of both days there was time set aside for group discussions. There is also a plan to produce a book following this most exciting Forum.
This was a very well received and attended Forum and special ‘thank yous’ must go to Kate Di Carlo and Aniu Kevichusa for all their help before and during the Forum.
